Another week end is over for Kart Republic; another demonstration of solid performances, pace, commitment and team work that pays back, as we scored a stunning 1-2 in OK, with Travisanutto (with CV Performance) and Patterson (with Sauber Karting Team)!
The weather conditions were so difficult this time; rain would come and go, and put our guys under serious pressure during qualifying and during the heats on Saturday. Ultimately, we had 4 Kart Republic chassis in the Top 5 in OK, after amazing recoveries from most of them!
Our OKJ have been a bit less lucky this time, slipping to the back on a wet track.

Let the protagonists tell us about this Belgian round of the CIK FIA European Championship:

“It’s been a tough week end; we messed it up a little bit in qualifying, as I had to start 9th and 10th in my heats, but we’ve been able to win heats and get proper results, managing to start 2nd in the final; I had very good speed, it’s really all been a matter of bringing it home.
Today is my third win in a row, so it’s the proof we did a good development lately and found a way to be fast again. My KR chassis was working so good this week end! I was feeling relaxed behind the wheel, and this clearly helps to make all the rest come together easily!
Next race will take place in Kristianstad, Sweden, a track that’s been very nice to me after winning last year’s World Championship; I’m feeling confident, I will try to keep the momentum.”

“Amazing and demanding weekend, with difficult weather circumstances. We haven’t been lucky in qualifying, but we started a great recovery in the heats, as we were pretty sure we could show our potential in dry conditions. Lorenzo did a great job in the final, building a solid gap in the first laps of the race; neither the rain coming at the end could stop him!
We’re currently in a positive moment, after winning three races in a row! Fortunately, we will go to
I can’t say how much we appreciate how we’re currently working with both KR and Iame; we’re getting huge support from them, and the staff is incredible, so big thanks to them!
Everybody knows Dino here! A great man, great support for us, he’s always there when you need him; a big part of our success belongs to him!”

“Qualifying in mixed weather conditions have been tough for many drivers this week end; it’s like gambling… it may go fine, or it may not! So, most of our drivers did pretty good, some didn’t, like Barnard (from Rosberg Racing Academy), who didn’t reach the final; it can happen to have a wrong weekend, although he was fast enough to be in the Top 5.
Overall, I can’t say much about OK… we have 4 KR in the Top 5 in! Travisanutto won with CV Performance and Patterson was second with Sauber Karting Team; very good results! I’m also happy about Porter; I knew he could be fast in his first international races.
I’m sorry for Antonelli (from Rosberg Racing Academy) in OKJ; he was one of the victims of the rain, with a tough Saturday, but he was so fast in the final he could actually have won the race! Overall, I’m happy with most of our OKJ drivers, as we took 4 of them to the final! Hopefully we will be able to shine soon in OKJ at the European Championship, as we already do regularly in the WSK Championship.”

“I had a good week end, I was really strong in the wet! It’s a shame they red flagged the final (due to the heavy rain), I thought I could finish second; I’m not really happy with that, but we did a great job with the team. Dino is a really nice person and he treats e well; it’s nice to work with him!”

The challenge for this 2019 edition of the CIK FIA European Championship will continue next week, in the green lands of Sweden; drivers will be racing in Kristianstad, a place where Travisanutto has very good memories, having won the World Cup last year!
