ANOTHER RACE WEEK END IS OVER, AND THE WSK EURO SERIES IS NOW AIMING AT THE NEXT ROUND IN ANGERVILLE

Not a perfect racing week end for Kart Republic here in Sarno! Lots of events affected our results, especially in OKJ and OK classes, even though the performance was clearly there: as Dino says, “this is racing!”.
But the team is delighted for scoring its first win in Mini class with William MacIntyre from Team Driver. Things look promising for the future races in this class.
Good signs are also coming from KZ, with our new driver Pex being really fast and consistent throughout the whole competition, despite being unlucky in the final. We will keep working following our path to the European Championship.

Last Friday, we also launched the new project, the “Sauber Karting Team”. We’re really excited to be involved into such high level partnership with a Formula 1 icon.

Let see what the protagonists have to say.

DINO CHIESA, GENERAL MANAGER FOR KR

“Things turned around pretty different compared to last week, but this is racing!

We had some misfortune in OK; we could have scored podium but the drivers were racing very aggressively and that caused us problems. Also Travisanutto had a big crash and rolled over but fortunately he escaped unhurt.
In OKJ our fastest driver this week end was Spina, but he didn’t take part to the qualifying sessions because of a technical problem. Anyway he showed some very good performances and climbed the rank finishing in the Top 10. and we’re happy about that!
We won in Mini Class! Since the beginning of this season we’ve always been fighting close to the top and today we finally scored a nice victory, which is positive for the future.
Also congratulations to Pirttilahti and team CV Performance for scoring podium in OK!
We also keep progressing in KZ. We’re working for the future, aiming at the European Championship and things looked good, better than last week, as we also won a heat on Saturday.

About Sauber Karting Team, it looks promising, we believe we’re going to have a productive collaboration in the long term. We have some requests from drivers who would like to join the program, so we will make sure to go through the list and find the right profile to represent the Sauber program.”

WILLIAM MACINTYRE, WINNER IN MINI CLASS WITH TEAM DRIVER

“I had a really good week end here in Sarno, with Kart Republic and Team Driver. I felt really confident with the kart; they set it up exactly how I like it and the engine was great in the straight, I couldn’t ask for more!
I finished P2 in the pre-final, so I was in a good position to win the final, and so it happened.
I feel we continue this winning momentum!

I’d like to thank Kart Republic, Dino, Richard and Team Driver, especially my mechanic Nicola and my family for their support!”

PEX, KZ DRIVER FOR KR

“This was my first race with Kart Republic so we had to work hard to prepare for this competition.
This week end we had a good speed, I feel I could even try to win the race. Unfortunately, I broke the engine during the first laps of the final, while I was P4. What a shame!
Being the first race, I think we did pretty good, and we now have a good basis to work on.

I feel good with Kart Republic! Their support was great, it’s nice to be working with them.”

NEW SAUBER TEAM MANAGER RICHARD TELLS US ABOUT THE NEW PROJECT WITH THE SWISS TEAM

“We’re excited about this new project with Sauber!
This first week end started positively, as we scored pole position in OK with Patterson!
He was unlucky in the heats, and slipped to the back because of a contact, but he recovered to P6 in the pre-final. Again an unlucky contact took him out of the final while he was P4.

I’m really happy about Dufek, who made a beautiful race! He was 17th after the heats but recovered pretty well on Sunday and finished P5 in the final.
It’s nice to be involved into such a prestigious project with a renewed F1 team and Kart Republic feels honored to be part of it. Sauber Kart Republic mostly because of Dino Chiesa, who I believe is the best Team Manager in karting; his reputation speaks for himself!”
